SeedInvest users can expect to receive updates from companies they’ve invested in on a quarterly basis. While many companies take it upon themselves to update their investors directly, SeedInvest does offer optional shareholder reporting services to its portfolio companies. In such cases, SeedInvest investors are notified via email and can access and review updates directly through their Portfolio page.
Please keep in mind that private company reporting can oftentimes be irregular. And while SeedInvest asks companies to provide thorough updates at regular intervals as a best practice – and provides tools and resources to help do so more efficiently – responsibility, ultimately falls on founders to produce and distribute updates.
Our team solicits updates directly from our portfolio companies at the end of each quarter. At the end of each quarterly reporting cycle our team will either upload one of the following: a quarterly report received from each company, or, as of Q1 2021, a document notating that no quarterly report has been received after several attempts.
Please note that some companies choose to self-report to their investors. If you are missing one of the aforementioned documents in your investor account and have not received a direct update from a company you’ve invested in via email, feel free to reach out to our team so we can help get you the update that you are due.
